One thing I love to do when I stay with friends is to cook a meal for my hosts as a thankyou.
So when I was in Melbourne over the weekend, I organised to make dinner on Sunday for Carlos and Mel. The plan was to pick up the ingredients on my way home.
But of course, I got side tracked and ended up running late. So I decided on a quick one stop shop at the David Jones food hall.
I’d been thinking of doing a Sunday roast of a butterflied leg of lamb and serving it with some roast veg and hummus.
They had the lamb. And the veg. But do you think I could find canned chickpeas? OR tahini?
I did a few desperate laps of the store looking for inspiration. And then I passed the yoghurt section.
Hummus replacement found.
And the best thing?
It’s seriously the easiest sauce ever. Just get some good quality natural yoghurt, give it a stir and season well with salt and pepper.
That’s it.
I didn’t even bother to put it in a serving container.
And everyone was raving about it at dinner.
Cheers,
Jules x
